    Pratiksha

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

Anand and Shobha were leading a happy and content life with their two daughters in a small village in Nizamabad district of Telangana. But just four months ago, they got a rude shock - their 4-year-old daughter, Pratiksha had stopped eating completely. The parents couldn’t understand what was wrong with her.

“We were at a loss. The medicines that the local doctors had given were not having an effect on her. She even had blood transfusions - but she still she looked white as a ghost. Shobha was so scared - she kept muttering ‘Please save her’. We could waste no more time,” - Anand, father.

Once in Hyderabad, they got to know that their 4-year-old has blood cancer

“That was the worst day of our lives. I remember Shobha didn’t eat for days after that. She kept praying for Pratiksha. I didn’t know what to do - whom to console - my wife or my 4-year-old who was unaware of the fight ahead of her.”

It’s been 3 months that Pratiksha has been undergoing chemotherapy. She is responding to the treatment but she needs 4 more months of chemo. Anand is afraid that he won’t be able to continue the treatment.

Why did it have to be her?

Shobha still can’t come to terms with the fact that her little girl has cancer. Often she asks why God chose Pratiksha - ‘It could have been me’ - she says. But sadly that’s not how life works. The deadly disease is sucking the life out of little Pratiksha. Her body is covered in rashes, she is prone to infections. If her treatment is discontinued, she will not make it.

“I’m a mason, I hardly make enough to feed my family two meals a day. Doctors have told me that I need 7 lakhs for Pratiksha’s treatment. I have never seen so much money in my life, I know no one who can help me arrange such a huge amount. How will I save my daughter?”

Pratiksha is only 4. She doesn’t deserve to go through the immense pain of cancer. She should be going to school, leading a happy, healthy life. She can do all of that if she gets treatment in time. You can help her get that - a small contribution from your side can save her life.

You're their only ray of hope - these parents are looking to you to save their daughter
