    This fundraiser will benefit

    Nancy

    from New Delhi, Delhi

It has been months since Nancy has looked in the mirror. She is scared to see her changed face and asks her mother every day - "How bad is it?" Her mother lies saying it is fine, but Nancy knows that is not the truth. She fears that the cancer that has taken over her face will soon take over her life completely.

She cannot eat or sleep or even talk properlyThe entire left side of her face hurts and it is only getting worse by the day. She used to be so talkative. All she does is cry silently now…she cannot even cry her heart out because even that has become so painful.”- Sandhya Devi, mother of Nancy, tearfully

13-year-old Nancy has been diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma, a rare cancer of the head and neck which originates in the nasopharynx. The nasopharynx is located at the very back of the nose near the Eustachian tubes. Without continued chemotherapy and medication, Nancy will not be able to survive for long.

It started as a small lump which has become excruciatingly painful

6 months ago, Nancy’s only worry was when school would restart as she was bored at home and wanted to meet her classmates and teachers again. She hated the Covid pandemic because it had confined her to her house and its vicinity. Little did the poor girl know that cancer would completely change her life around for the worse.

“It started as a small swelling under her left ear. We didn’t think much of it because it was hardly visible and did not hurt her. But soon, it turned into a nightmare soon. It started hurting soon. She has started getting pains in her head and abdomen too.”-Chandrama Prasad, Nancy’s father.

With nobody to help, this poor mechanic is struggling to save his daughter

Chandrama Prasad is a small-time mechanic based in Delhi. He used to run his household based on the number of customers he gets – which would vary depending on demand. He has had to sacrifice his personal needs for the welfare of his daughter Nancy and her elder brother. Now, he is not able to even go to work as his daughter needs him the most during this ordeal.

“I was orphaned at an early age when my parents passed away. I only have an elder brother who hasn’t even come to meet my daughter; forget offered help. I am reeling in debt. Whatever savings I had, I have already used in Nancy’s treatment. I wish I had better finances to save her, but I don’t. I am lost and need help.”- Chandrama Prasad

Nancy is in dire need of your help and support.
