    This fundraiser will benefit

    Namratha Sri G

    from Chennai, Tamil Nadu

“Namratha came into our lives and filled it with happiness, she is our angel. She has always been such a sweet and happy child. Her smile, it’s very contagious but now, it’s like we are slowly losing our daughter to this blood disease. The doctors have told us that if  there's any delay in getting her treated her disease can even lead to cancer!,"- Anil, father.

No medicines can cure this disease, she needs the transplant

In the month of February, Namratha suffered from a very high fever- 104 degrees, which continued to persist despite taking medicines. Within the next few days, her condition got so serious that she had to be admitted in the hospital where her tests revealed that blood levels were dangerously down.

104! It is so high a temperature and our Namratha is just a 5-year-old baby. We were so worried thinking it could the new virus that everyone was talking about but she was diagnosed with something that has no cure. Her only hope was now a transplant," - Ravalli, mother.

They are running out of time to save the little girl

Namratha suffers from Fanconi Anemia, a rare and severe blood disorder that affects many parts of the body. It can cause physical abnormalities, organ defects, and has an increased risk of certain cancers. The little girl’s condition is very serious and any further delay in the treatment can cost her her life.

“Doctors told us in February itself that she would need a bone marrow transplant to cure her disease. But I didn’t know what it was and before I could make any arrangements, the lockdown began. I tried so hard to take her for check-ups and a second opinion but doctors asked us not to take the risk.” - Anil

“ All these months I watched her slowly getting worse. Her body got weaker by day, sometimes she would just sit in a corner and do nothing and sometimes she would cry helplessly unable to explain what is bothering her. Now when the doctors tested her again they told us for sure that only a transplant can save her now and that she is running out of time.”

This daily wager can't save his daughter

Anil is a daily wage labourer who works as a welder. It is not guaranteed that he gets a job every day so whenever he does get it, he saves a part of it for days he might not earn. But those little savings are nowhere close to what is needed.

“My husband has always been thoughtful of the future and would save as much as he could for Namratha’s future but this transplant, it will cost us in lakhs. Where will we get such kind of money from?  Namratha is all we have and we don’t want to lose her.” - Ravalli.
