Munsi Premchand Gramin Pustkalay (Trust)- MPGP

Vision: To be the Prime Enabler in Evolution of a Knowledge driven Prosperous India characterized by Excellence, Values & Enlightenment of its people.

Short Term Goal: To establish and operate 20 libraries in 20 different Panchayats across the nation by 2020.

Brief Introduction: Munsi Premchand Gramin Pustkalay (Trust) aims to establish and operate a chain of quality libraries in remote villages across India where the poor students are not able to compete with the students from developed area and from privileged families for their career opportunities. In this era of competition, apart from good books, we strive to provide quality study materials and guidance to underprivileged students, so that they may have equal opportunities at their exposure.
A positive and important effect of these libraries will be Constructive Development of Young Minds. We witness that students quit their education due to financial reasons & lack of guidance, and sometimes they get involved in unsocial activities. Through a chain of libraries and its constructive activities, the trust will engage young minds in creative self-development and will guide them to shape their future. In near future, we also aim to serve as a tool to accomplish the visionary projects ‘Skill India’ and ‘StartUp India’ of the Government of India.
Activities: The Trust inaugurated 1st unit of library in Sarwan Village of Deoghar District in Jharkhand on 19thDecember, 2010. Since then it has grown as a major support to the students and it is serving around 2000 students from various schools and villages around it. The library has around 1500 books/ study materials ranging from Panchtantra to UPSC Question banks and from NCERT supplement books to IIT-JEE preparation materials. The library also serves with 3 daily newspapers and many magazines. Students are also provided with space to do group study in evening in the library during Non-Library hours.  All these have resulted in benefiting students in terms that they are getting selected for Teaching jobs, Banks, Railways, NITs, BIT, RIMS etc. The first unit was established and is being operated with the funding from Trust members. We received help in terms of books from Deoghar Book Fair organizing committee and Study materials from Allen Career Institute and Resonance, Kota.
Our Another activity is Project ‘Chirag’, in which Trust is ‘adopting’ poor and unprivileged children from downtrodden section of our society for their education. The trust is providing them free education which includes education in good school, tuition, books, stationaries, clothes, shoes, bags etc. Every year we are ‘adopting’ few such children and working with them for their better future.

Under Project ‘Beej’ we organize activities on Environment Conservation, Water Conservation & Water Harvesting.  iN 2017 we planted 630 super quality of fruit and timber plants for 30 girl children. Project ‘Uday’ aims for personality development of rural students through various competitions and activities. In Project ‘Kaushal’, we are nominating & coordinating for
skill training of rural students and youths in different organizations. We also, organize Career Counselling with experts for guidance of students.

Future Plans: We are planning to establish 20 units of Munsi Premchand Gramin Pustkalay by 2020. Taking our mission one step further, Munsi Premchand Gramin Pustkalay (Trust) inaugurated its 2nd branch in a remote village Bhaiyadih-MishrAgidhanda in Deoghar district of Jharkhand on 5th March 2016.
The 3rd unit will be inaugurated soon in Kushmil village of Deoghar, Jharkhand.
