    Mohandas

    from Kozhikode, Kerala

Mohandas aged 58, son of late Ayyappan and husband of Praseetha residing at Kuttoth Paramba Vengery Village Karuvassery PO Kozhikode Corporation, is suffering from Chronic Kidney disease for the last three years. Mohandas is undergoing Haemodialysis for the last three years from the Government Medical College Hospital Kozhikode. The dialysis was done with the help of the Karunya scheme for the first two years and later under the Arogya scheme provided by the Government of Kerala.
Mohan is an auto rikshaw driver and he is sole bread winner of his family. He also takes care of his aged mother and a brother who is mentally ill. His brother Sadanandan needs to be occasionally admitted to the mental hospital. Mohan’s entire family depends on the income made by him by driving the auto rikshaw.
As his illness has increased over the last few years, he’s not able to drive his vehicle regularly and hence, his income has reduced considerably.
Now a stage has reached were he may not be able to do any work due to his illness.
The IQRAA International Hospital and Research center Calicut (India) has examined his case and have suggested a kidney transplant at the earliest. On examining it was noticed that his wife’s kidney can be used for the same and she has given her consent for the transplanting her kidney. The cost of the transplant and medications comes to more than 5 lakhs rupees. Doctors are planning to perform the kidney transplant on July 22, 2018 .
Unfortunately, Mohandas or his family will not be able to raise this much money on his own and even after the treatment, he will require complete bed rest and treatment which may cost additional money. He will not be able to go for any work after the transplant at least for six to seven months.
Kindly consider this case and provide support to Mohandas and his family so that he can slowly come back to his normal life and support his family.
