Story

17-year-old Megha has been diagnosed with Leukaemia. She just got in to 2nd year PU in June. After 10- 15 days of college she started to have severe cycles of fever that did not reduce with normal medicines.

Megha hails from a small village, 15kms away from Tumkur, Karnataka. She visited the doctor in Tumkur for the continuous fever, suspecting this to be abnormal- the doctor suggested few blood tests. That’s when the family realized Megha has a severe blood disorder.

She was brought to NH in July under Dr.Sharath Damodar’s care. A BMT was suggested for a permanent cure. She has been undergoing chemotherapy for the past 4-5 months. Her mother has been identified as a match - as a donor.

Megha’s parents Kathyani and Rajeshekar have another daughter studying in college. Rajeshkar is a farmer and as any farmer in India, he depends totally on the rain for the expenses. Mother is a house-wife. Rajashekar has also applied for state funding but nothing has come through that.

Your support can go a long way to help Megha to get back on her feet and go to college like any other college girl. Please do support.
