    M Sai Ruthwik

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

“Just a week ago, we were all at home, happy and well, everything was fine and now... now my child is in the ICU struggling to survive, his heartbeat is becoming weak and his lungs are fighting infection. He is not responding to anything I say, he is so still and I fear that I won’t get another chance to talk to him. I fear I will lose him.” - Sri, mother.

He needs urgent treatment

11-year-old Ruthwik suffers from Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome, a rare but serious complication that can occur sometimes after COVID-19, in which some parts of the body such as the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, digestive system, brain, skin or eyes become inflamed. If not treated immediately it can lead to permanent damage to his vital organs or even death.

“He had a very high fever and was struggling to breathe. When we reached the hospital and tests were done, he tested negative for the Coronavirus but the doctors told us that he had the antibodies. He had been in contact with the virus in the past which is causing severe complications now. I just don’t understand how this happened. Ruthwik didn’t go out at all and we were very cautious, following all the precautions but still…” - Sri, unable to continue.

Critical health, with each day worse than the previous one

Ruthwik is having multiple organ complications. His heath is critical with each day worse than the previous one. He needs continuous medical supervision and ICU care. The entire week parents kept praying to god and running pillar to post to keep the treatment going but now it is beyond their means, they are unable to continue the treatment any further.

He wouldn’t sit still for even a minute and now...

“He was just like any other child of his age, active and mischievous. He has a younger sister too with whom he loved to play. My children mean the world to me and look at him now, he is lying on the bed, unconscious. I am doing all I can to keep him alive but am failing. If anything happens to him, it will all be my fault," - Prasad, father.

Prasad is a farmer. Though he didn’t earn much, his income was sufficient to provide his family with a comfortable life. In the past one week, he has sold all he could, took loans and asked everyone he knew for help but it is not enough. He needs your help to save his son from this critical stage. Your contribution can save Ruthwik and give him a second chance at life. Click here to contribute
