This Village Library Run By Children Will Close Without Help

Story

My name is Gnanasekar. I'm studying in 12th std in Nagadasampatti village, Dharmapuri. I was a member of Children Parliament in my school. I joined when I was in 6th std. Now we don't have that organization anymore in our village. But my friends and I who joined the organization continued to meet and do activities.

We have a theatre in our village but we don't have a library. Government library is closed for more than 4 years. We decided to start one. Our school did not have space to have a library. We collected money from the people in and around our village.

We opened our library on May 1st, 2017.
We paid an advance of Rs 10,000 and agreed to pay Rs 1,500 as Rent.

We were able to manage till August. We don't have money to pay the rent. Library is closed in the morning hours because we don't have a librarian to be there all the time. We can't afford to pay salary.

We cannot afford to buy books, our library is helpful for many of us. We share books and many use this library to do their homework because they don't have lights in their home. We got books from the government library and many donated new books. We have now more than 1700 books.

We need funds to pay rent to our library and appoint a librarian.

Please help us.
