    Kamrul Haque

    from Bangalore, Karnataka

Kamrul is a tea-estate worker in the hills beyond Siliguri, Bengal. He has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and needed an urgent surgery to get better. His parents, wife and three children depend on him and Kamrul wants to get better for his family that is helpless without him.

A headache that turned out to be brain tumour

Two months back, Kamrul had to be rushed back home because of a headache. He decided to take rest which was nothing unusual. What was unusual was how long he slept. Kamrul slept the next three days and the family became very worried.

He was taken to the best doctor the family knew. The doctor recommended a scan and found that he had a brain tumour. A surgery could remove the tumour and Kamrul could go back to work. But as with all procedures connected with the brain there was some risk.

His family decided to bring him to Bangalore because Kamrul had previously been treated here for jaundice. The family wanted to put their trust and Kamrul's life in the hands of doctors they knew well.

“I need to get better because my family depends on me”

Kamrul, his wife Runa and his uncle came to Bangalore for his surgery. Even though they got all their savings from home, it is still not enough. With a daily income of Rs 140, Kamrul has not got much. While he is very industrious, he needs a bit more help for his financial treatment.

“He's a very nice boy. He wants to get better because he needs to take care of his parents, wife and children. For a poor people like us, the decision to go so far from home for treatment is not taken easily,” explains Kamrul's uncle.

Kamrul has undergone the crucial surgery he needed and is now slowly recovering

Help Kamrul clear his bills and save not just him but his family that is completely dependent on him.
