    This fundraiser will benefit

    Ibrahim Shareef

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

“He was just 15 days old when he first had an infection and now, we have lost count of how many times we have admitted him to the hospital. He is so prone to infections that we fear that he might catch a cold if we sneeze. I don’t want him to live a life where he is constantly sick and fighting for his life. But I am helpless, unable to save my son”
 - Sujathahulaa, father

Vulnerable to infections, his life is always in danger

10-month-old Ibrahim suffers from Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), a disorder that causes the immune system to malfunction, resulting in a form of immunodeficiency. The immune system is not able to protect the body from foreign invaders, such as bacteria and fungi, leading to recurrent bacterial and fungal infections in vital organs. It can result in damage to those tissues causing permanent scarring.

It has a cure - a stem cell transplant. This transplant can save little Ibrahim’s life and give him a chance to lead a happy and healthy life. However, the family cannot afford the cost of the treatment.

A transplant can save him from this misery

“In the last 6 months, there were times when he was so critical that we were scared to lose him. But our son, he is a fighter who kept coming back to us. In all those times, he has suffered so immensely that it breaks my heart. When we found out that there is a cure that can put him out of this misery, we were relieved. But the very next moment we realized we’ll never be able to afford it.” - Sameena, mother

Sameena is a homemaker and Sujathahulla is an auto driver. In the past couple of months, Sujathahulla has barely been able to go for work as little Ibrahim was constantly fighting one infection after another. Financially, they are struggling to afford even his monthly medications, let alone this transplant.

His parents can't afford his transplant, they need your help

“I am just an auto driver, I will never be able to gather so much money, even if I work day and night for the rest of my life. I was barely able to manage the medical expenses till now. I have begged and borrowed to come this far but this transplant, it is beyond my means. I am desperately in need of help. Please save my son.” - Sujathuhulla

Doctors have advised that the bone marrow transplant should happen as soon as possible.
With each passing day, the complications will only grow and put Ibrahim’s life in more danger than he already is in.
