About Karuna: KARUNA  the compassion is non government organization which is run by group of youth in order to help and uplift poor and needy people. Karuna the Compassion came into existence in January 2010. Since providing free of cost education to youth, children and women to organizing various health, nutrition and human rights related awareness camps and till very recently opening a free hostel for visually impaired people.


KARUNA NID: HOPE AND HOME FOR HANDICAPED :-




Now we working on  Hostel for handicapped students in Delhi. We have more than 20 blind students in our Hostel. Along with this we are going to help them in providing disability certificates which are very beneficial for them. These certificates are made in hospitals after inspection and there is an eligibility criteria for approval. We have contacts with some hospitals and we would help them as more as we can. But we need more support and blessings.

AIM OF FREE HOSTEL :-

There is very baseless conviction that these special people cannot perform well because of their disability. But its not true as there are many examples such as Rajendra Singh rahelu ,Sudha Chauhan, Stephen Hawking, and many more. People treat them badly and make them realize that they are different from normal human being.

We just want to provide them home like environment where they will get more care and better understanding

What we Provide in Hostel:

• We serve Three Time food for Students Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
• Provide Blankets and Lihaf.
• Regular counselling for Their Motivation
• Educational / Vocational Programs
• Medical Treatment For Basic & Emergency Available both.
• We also welcomed any another state Disable students to stay in our Hostel.

We Provide Certificate for Handicapped Students
 
With disability certificate, the government has attached a number of benefits and facilities. Following are some of the general facilities that a disability certificate holder can avail.

• Scholarship schemes for students with disabilities
• Concession in railway fare
• Rebate in income tax
• Reservation in government jobs
• Free travel in state transport buses
• Loan for starting own business
• Subsidized prosthetic aids and assistive devices (like wheelchairs)
• Group insurance for government employees with disabilities
• Unemployment allowance to educated disabled persons
• Incentive for eye donors.

FUND REQUIRED FOR HOSTEL :-

We need  Fund for various Hostel Activities:-

• Hostel Rent
• Food and Material
• Medical Facilities for Students
•  Material Required for Hostel Development
• Cook and Cleaner Salary

In India out of the 121 Cr population, 2.68 Cr persons are disabled which is 2.21% of the total population. Among the disabled population 56% (1.5 Cr) are males and 44% (1.18 Cr ) are females.

In the wake of this, we need many more Hostels  like Karuna Nid. Your help can not only enabled karuna Nid but you help more Handicapped Students who need more care, Understanding & Treatment.

We are raising funds to keep the Hostel running for another year and to be able to take in and support more Students.
