Hamsaveni, a 57 year old mother of 2, has a hard life working as a caretaker of elderly people during nights. She is currently taking care of my aged grandparents. This year, her life turned for the worse when her second son, Ramanan, suffered from severe burns across the body.

Ramanan, a 38 year old, has been suffering from seizures for over 8 years now. In March, 2018, while taking a bath, he suffered a serious bout of fits. As he lay motionless on the bathroom floor, the scalding water overflowed causing him terrible burns in various parts of the body.

He was admitted to the ICU of MR Hospitals, Chennai where he stayed for 5 days and then shifted to the general ward for 15 days. He still continues to undergo treatment through medicines and various dermatological procedures.

Hamsaveni is the lone bread winner in her family earning around 12,000 a month. The treatment has so far alone has cost her 5 lakhs, all of which have been arranged through loans. She is struggling to pay her EMIs of 18,000 per month and a small donation will go a long way in helping her come out of the debt trap.
