We are raising funds to bring awareness about NMMS - National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship program.
This year we(YFS Team) are planning to start this in rural areas as most of the government schools don’t know about this scholarship program . We provide a NMMS book to the eligible students and planning to keep a tutor in rural area as there will be no volunteers to guide students. Total students : 500 and book cost is Rs 120 for each book. So total Rs 60k(500*120) for books and tutor fee is Rs 1500 for a month. Exam will be in November first week.we need to start exam preparation by August so for 3 months tutor fee is Rs 4500. We are taking care of 8 schools so it costs Rs 36000. The books can be used for next 2 years.
This will help government school students to get 48,000 scholarship by providing NMMS material and by arranging tutor for the preparation.
8th class students are eligible to write NMMS exam.
Prerequisite:
Should have B+ in 7th
1,50,000 inr or below income,
Bank account on their name.
Caste certificate.
if they pass the exam they get 12k per year for next 4 years till inter. Total Rs 48,000. As for most of the government students this money will be useful and the dropouts would be decreased.
