My brother Girish is suffering from renal parenchymal disease stage IV where both of his kidneys have started to shrink while one of it has already shrunk such that it cannot further improved and the only option we are left with is kidney transplant.
Year 2018 has been terrible for us as in the mid month of January we got to know the above problem. It was one usual Friday my brother complained to my mother about severe headache that he is going through. Later he just ignored and left to work on Saturday morning but soon we got a call from his office saying he is unable to bear headache and soon he has to be taken to hospital. We first left to Apollo hospital where they got his vitals checked and asked us to refer to nephrologist as his BP had gone up to 260 and his creatinine level was 13.
Soon the same day we left to malathi manipal hospital and consulted nephrologist. The answer was my brother suffering from kidney failure. We family members could not digest the fact and asked doctor that we never observed any symptoms and also it is a matter of fact that my brother never fell ill before then how he was suffering from such a big disease.
The answer that we got is it might be the issue since his birth and we failed to recognize as he rarely fell ill or the diease would have started when he was 10 or 15 years.
Next day again to confirm we left to Fortis hospital but the answer didn't change. Then we heard there was some good nephrologist in rangadore hospital and at least there we could hear some good news of Girish being better. But things fell apart when we heard that we have been just wasting our time in confirming than to start his treatment of dialysis as he had his hemoglobin count very less and creatine at high peak.
But things turned out to be difficult as my brother was ready for any treatment saying there must be wrong with the reports as he was such fine like a normal healthy person and just a headache cannot lead to severe kidney disease.
Days passed and in this month that is may, my brother started complaining that he is finding it difficult to breathe during nights and that he soon feels week and tired after walking minimum of 10 steps.
Things turned out worst on Friday morning 18th may,2018 as he started screaming to take him to hospital at the earliest. He was taken to rangadore hospital and they got him admitted to ICU as his blood and calcium levels had dropped down to 4 and his creatine level was 25 and infections had increased very badly. Doctors have inserted cathedral to his neck and have started with the dialysis treatment and also with blood and calcium infusions.
We belong to a lower middle class family and that my father is a retired person and my mother is a home maker. I work for a private organization and the whole family is now dependent on me. I have been spending all my savings for the treatment and dialysis. Also he owns no medical insurance.
I kindly request you people to do the needful and help my brother to get back to his normal healthy life. Your little help will help us to great extend.
