Komali who is just 28 years old was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow, in 2019. She underwent treatment for over 2 years, despite facing financial and personal struggles.

Even after all the intensive chemotherapy sessions and platelet transfusions, she is now at high risk of losing her life with the relapse of her cancer. She cannot survive without immediate Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplantation.

“I was devastated when I got to know my loving wife has cancer. Our baby was just 6 months old at that time when Komali first had sudden high fevers and chills. After a week, she started vomiting blood. That scared us and we immediately rushed her to the hospital. It’s been a nightmare since then with regular hospital checkups and running behind people to borrow money. There was no one to even take care of our baby while we had to spend long hours in hospital.” – Lakshman, Husband

I had heavy vaginal bleeding and vomiting—it took all my energy, but my willpower to stay alive remained. That is the only thing that keeping up going right now. My husband has been through a lot to save me and I feel so guilty about it. Now, without 15 lakh rupees for the transplant, I may not make it.” – Komali
