"After he fell on the floor one day, he had swelling on his forehead that we thought would heal by itself. Then he got a high fever which did not subside for days even after taking medicines. We knew something was wrong but never imagined cancer as a possibility even in our wildest dreams. Two months ago, he was active and was running all around the house. Now weakness has taken over him, his little body is not able to bear the painful chemotherapy. He has made friends with all the nurses and doctors here but he feels defeated when they give him injections. He gets angry and cries the whole day. I dread the thought of his hair and eyebrows feeling down. I can't bear to see him going through this. I don't know how long we can endure this pain." - Krishnamoorthy, Father of 4-year-old Deepak.

No parent can bear to hear that their child's life is uncertain. We haven't come out of the shock yet." - Krishnamoorthy.

But now that is not enough, he needs urgent bone marrow transplant to recover completely.
"We have told him that he has bad blood in his body and we needed to replace it with good blood. He innocently asks how much more good blood he needs so that he can go back home. He plays in the hospital for a while but soon he feels tired and sleeps the whole day. He is not able to eat. His blood count keeps dropping and coming back to normal. My daughter doesn't know that her brother has cancer. I have told her he'll be back home soon. We have not slept from the day of his diagnosis. We live in constant fear of losing him." - Radhika.

I was determined to save him at any cost. I felt relieved when doctors told that he is responding to the treatment. But the painful journey has not ended.
