Deepa has been suffering from Fanconi’s Anaemia for the past 7 years. This is a rare blood disorder that leads to a bone marrow failure. This disorder prevents the bone marrow from producing new blood cells.
Deepa has to keep visiting the hospital for frequent blood transfusions. The disorder requires her to visit the hospital once in at least 3 months to have a blood transfusion.She is presently in the ninth standard and has been depending on the transfusions for almost half her life.

Deepa's mother is working at a garment store and her father works as a security guard at an agency. They also have an elder son.

They just about make it through with all the education expenses and monthly blood transfusions. Hence she has been advised to go for a BMT, which offers a permanent cure for her condition.
