So, do 396 other children who study at Shree Ganga Vidyanikethan (SGV) School.
SGV School is located in the poor neighborhood of Kadugudi, Bangalore. Most the kids here belong to families of Contract workers who are employed as security guards, drivers and house help.
But the kids of SGV schools are not just dreamers they are doers. The kids of SGV School are champions in football. They were the Champions from Bangalore who competed in the National Just for Kick tournament in Mumbai. In the process they even got opportunity to give interviews to Star Sports. However to keep these opportunities going we need funds to keep the teams alive. Not to mention these wannabe Messis are playing with the minimum infrastructure. We need to keep their dreams alive through access to better resources.
Not only football, these little overachievers won a Dramabaaz competition bagging the best screenplay award. These kids are brimming with talent and potential. With limited resources, they have the zeal and courage to seize every opportunity that shows up and give it all they have.
The TFI fellows in the school have put their heart and soul into making this school a temple of learning and knowledge as it was intended to be. But the equation contains another inevitable factor: Funds.
