I dont know how to start, i came from a place where girl child education is a myth. But my brother stood against of all, he believed in me, he believed in education for girl. 16 Years ago our dad passed away due to heart attack, since then my mom and brother took care of me. When there is no choice of education for both of us, he made his choice to support me for education.
Now i want to stand with him. Though i cant afford that, the inspiration he filled in me from my childhood is making me to see all the possible ways of raising fund to help him recover.
Everything was going well till last Sankranti when all of a sudden, my brother started trembling with severe pain in the abdomen. That's when we took him to a nearby clinic assuming its a gastrointestinal problem that initiated the pain. After consulting the physician and conducting some scans, the reports broke us down to the core. The reports revealed that he is suffering from SEVERE ACUTE PANCREATITIS WITH T2DM WITH ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY. Little did we know, that he's been suffering from this excruciating pain in silence. We immediately took him to JSS hospital, Mysore for further treatment. He was kept under observation over a period of 10 days with IV antibiotics, analgesics, nebulizations and IV fluids as per nephrology advise. 2 cycles of haemodialysis were done in a week. On 22nd Jan, they performed Contrast CT scan of abdomen and pelvis that revealed ACUTE NECROTISING PANCREATITIS with CT severity index of 10/10, partial splenic vein thrombosis and moderate ascitis with left moderate and right minimal pleural effusion. USG Thorax revealed bilateral pleural effusion. Doctors performed ascitic tapping of 250ml haemorrhagic fluid from lungs expecting some relief. His body was unable to withstand the pain he received from multiple treatments overtime, because of which he got mentally disturbed with the rising situations on the family. He is a person who never gives up, but he broke down when he found himself tied to the bed.
We took a second opinion from the specialists and shifted him to Narayana Multi-specialty Hospital, Mysore. He was admitted in MICU immediately and they started aggressive treatment with higher antibiotics and regular dialysis. Even though the treatment is satisfactory, his body is unable to respond to the medicines that are given overtime. Despite this, his condition is worsening and now he is having infected Pancreatitis Necrosis, Multi Organ Dysfunction (MODS), Sepsis and Septic shock. Currently, he is on mechanical ventilator support, TPN and other supportive medications. He requires further ICU care, higher antibiotics with CT Pig Tail insertion and dialysis with ventilator support. Estimation cost of the treatment will be around ~ 15 lakhs.
Doctor's has suggested that the chances of survival in such cases are critical at old age, but because of his young age of 28, doctors has given us a ray of hope on his speedy recovery. It's been 25 days and the expenditure has reached ~ 7.5 lakhs as of today.
Just the way he showed confidence in me at every step of my life, I want to support him in one of the most difficult times of life. I kindly urge you to help me save my brother, as it's difficult to meet the medical expenses at this stage.
