Story

Dear supporter,

We're a hospital in the small cantonment of Ambala, Rotary Ambala Cancer and General Hospital. We're the only hospital here with the capacity to treat COVID19 and the only one with an ICU. The Government has asked us to ramp up and enlisted us to prepare for an isolation ward and a quarantine facility.

We are a non profit hospital and our infrastructure is supported through donations. Any new additions can only be done when we have new funds for it. While we have got a newly built ICU, but its not fully equipped and given the pandemic we are in a pretty 'desperate' need of ventilators and monitors.

We want to participate in the corona response, but our medical staff aren’t equipped sufficiently to deal with an outbreak of this level. We're terrified to think of what corona virus could mean for the poor families who visit our hospital. Our staff uses raincoats as makeshift PPEs, but we don't know how long we can continue this way. When cases surge our staff will get exposed and pick up the virus from infected patients.

Ambala and areas around it have inadequate healthcare, imagine the burden on cities like Chandigarh and Delhi when patients from neighboring areas begin to swell up. How would they deal with overcrowding? we need to be quick in ramping up.  We assure you that 100% of your fund will go towards COVID19 response.
