Dear All,
Those of you who know me personally may know that my mother Mrs. Bulbul Sen hasn’t been well since the last 6 months. Her ever radiant smile, her cheerfulness and love of life suddenly began to fade away. Look at her current photo as attached. She looks much older than her actual age of 66 years.
The first signs of sickness started with her complaining about acute and excruciating pain in her abdomen. Initial diagnosis was of damage to both her upper and lower intestine walls (intestinal perforation) and couple of malignant tumors which were surgically removed.
She was sent home; as the diagnosis was to commence on chemo therapy once she recovered from the surgery and had the strength to bear the physically extracting procedure. Her first chemo took place in couple of weeks’ time which was very mild considering her initial diagnosis and her health condition. However within a few days she had to be rushed to the Tata Medical Center in Newtown Kolkata as the pain came back. Diagnosis this time was more intense-there was a new tumor and biopsy revealed a rapidly progressive cancer and a confirmed high grade B-cell non Hodgkin lymphoma. Treatment this time was an intensive chemo regimen to try and kill the new tumor and make progress on the long path to recovery. She has been in and out of a few medical institutions several times in the past few months, had full time nursing care at home, but this time around, she will be hospitalized for a long time.
Current status is that she requires more intensive chemo sessions and continued in-hospital care for treatment and recovery.
With the surgery, chemo sessions till date, multiple days of hospitalization, extensive and ongoing medical tests and procedures- we have completely exhausted our financial resources and would be immensely grateful for any help that we may get to help save my mother.
I keep seeing crowd funding initiatives and how it completely changes people’s lives. So I thought of reaching out to my friends and well wishers for your help. Please help me and my father raise the funds required for my mother’s medical treatment.
Every small contribution will help our cause and will go a long way in saving my mother. I humbly request everybody to help us in our battle against this dreadful disease. Please help restore my mother to her original self.
