    Baby of Hima Bindu

    from Nalgonda, Telangana

"15 minutes. That's all we have. If we delay the delivery any further, both the mother and the child's life will be in danger."

On 3rd December, in the middle of the night, Hima Bindu had to undergo an emergency c-section to deliver her baby.

2 weeks before the delivery, my wife contracted a severe cough that wouldn't subside no matter what medication was prescribed to her. Every day we would visit the hospital, scared of what might happen to our child if the cough persisted. And soon our fears came true! Now, our baby is battling for her life in the NICU.” - Sampath, father

She suffers from multi-organ complications

Born at just 32 weeks, Sampath ans Priyanka's newborn baby girl is battling multiple organ complications. She suffers from respiratory distress syndrome, low birth weight, and congenital heart defects, among other issues.

“She weighed only 1.6 kgs when she was born. But now, after 3 weeks, rather than gaining weight, she has lost half a kg. Underdeveloped organs and blood infections - my little girl is going through so much pain before she has been able to even open her eyes, and I am unable to do anything to ease her pain.” - Hima Bindu, mother

They are failing to continue the treatment

“My wife and I go to the hospital daily to check with the doctor on our baby’s condition and to see her, but we are allowed inside for just a few minutes - that too, only one of us can go. I often look at her through the glass window and can’t help cry looking at her. She is hooked to all these machines that are keeping her alive, unable to even breathe on her own. I just want her to get well soon, so we can take her home. But I am failing to afford the treatment.” - Sampath

The little one needs to remain in the NICU for 10 more days to recover. It will cost these parents in lakhs, something they can’t afford.

Sampath is a chaplain by profession, and doesn't have a steady income as such. He used up all his savings and borrowed money from friends and family to keep up with his baby’s medical expenses, so far. Now, he is failing to afford the rest of the treatment.

You can help this family with your generous contributions and save their little baby girl's life.
