This fundraiser is for a low-income primary school situated in Village Patherberia, Dist - 24 Pgs. (South), around 50 km from Calcutta. The school is run by an education and forest rights activist, in his native village. There are around 130 students enrolled in this school and the monthly fee for school is Rs. 50; even then the collection of fee is irregular (most families are extremely poor) and insufficient to be able to cover the expenses of educators and other basic facilities. The educators are motivated to bring about a change through delivering quality education but even paying them is extremely difficult though they charge only Rs. 700 per month for their service.
The funds collected through this fundraising shall be utilised in:
1. Buying seating infrastructure in classrooms as students still sit on floor during classes. (40% of funds)
2. Ensuring training and capacity building of teachers over the next 1 year. (20% of funds)
3. Buying computers and a projector/TV for audio-visuals to be shown for better learning. (40% of funds)
When do we need funds?
Monthly expenditure report (with receipts), quarterly and annual progress report to be sent to the donors and donors can feel free to visit the school anytime.
