Who is Akshay?
Akshay and I did schooling together and have known him for nearly 10 years now. Akshay is born blind. Despite his predicament, he is determined and has finished his undergrad in law from Ambedkar law university in Chennai (received tuition fees exemption) and is now pursuing his masters in law, a one year course from National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) in Kochi. He is a hard-working and bright student who has conquered success in education against all odds. He has secured 92% in 12th (CBSE stream) and 72% in Bcom.
Family background
Akshay's father works with the CMDA as an operator and mother takes home tuitions. He also has an elder brother. Family also has many commitments unmet, one of them being an eye operation for Akshay's father (costing Rs. 50,000)
Need for fundraising
Recognizing existing commitments, Akshay and his family is in need of money to fund his education. The total cost of his masters from NUALS is Rs. 125,000.
