    This fundraiser will benefit

    Mr. D. Kiran Kumar

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

“I stand beside her bed and call out her name, hoping that she will open her eyes and smile at me. But it doesn’t happen. Her heart had stopped working twice in the last few days. The doctors have brought her back from the brink of death. But now I fear I will lose my only child if you don’t come forward and help,” - Mounika broke into tears as she said this.

Kiran Kumar and Mounika have had a whirlwind of a last week when their 7-month-old baby girl, Akshaya, fell sick at a family function in Hyderabad. The parents haven’t had a single night of sleep, or eaten a morsel of food since then. They have been running from pillar to post to save Akshaya from a dangerous dengue virus in her body.

Kiran’s waits to see if his regular prayers at the temple will be answered now

Kiran is a priest in Annavaram temple, Andhra Pradesh. Now, while his daughter is battling between life and death with all her vital organs shutting down, he hopes his God will come to his rescue. He religiously puts the 'kumkum' on the baby's forehead, praying for a miracle.

“Everyday I hear so many people ask for wealth and prosperity at the temple. But since Akshaya was born to us, the only thing I have ever asked for is her well-being. I want to give her a great future, I don’t want to see her take her last few breaths on a cold ICU bed,” - Kiran, father.

The virus is spreading fast, it can even kill the little baby

Akshaya’s heart, lungs and kidneys have almost completely given up on her. She needs prolonged ICU care and ventilator support. The little baby is fighting dengue fever - the virus is affecting all her organs one by one.

“I can’t look at my daughter like this, it is so painful. I wait outside the ICU, hoping for good news but with every passing minute she is getting critical. She needs to stay in the hospital for at least 10 more days but we are out of money. I can’t bear to think what will happen if we can’t arrange for the money in time,” - Mounika.

Every meal we skip feels like a saving for our daughter

The desperate parents have reached out to everyone they know for help. From relatives to neighbours to moneylenders - they have left no stone unturned. They have managed to pay around 7 lakhs. But with Kiran’s limited salary and no savings, they don’t know how they can afford 7 more lakhs. They have been skipping meals, trying to save as much as they can.  Akshaya needs to stay in the hospital, her life is at risk. And these parents need your help to save their only child.
