Over the past few decades, computer education has assumed massive significance across India. While those hailing from the middle and upper classes are equipped with in-depth computer education, the underprivileged ones are in desperate need to be fed with this yardstick to secure a better future.
Recognizing the need to impart computer education to the lesser privileged section of our society, Namma Bengaluru Awards Rising Star of the Year 2016 Harshil Mittal’s Let’s Spread Love aims to take up an initiative to make children who do not have ample sources e-literate.
About the initiative
Kickstarting the effort at Bengaluru’s LR Nagar, Harshil aims to setup a computer laboratory for the slum children of the area. Hoping to target 100 underprivileged students each year, the computer lab is expected to have three full-fledged PCs, which will be an additional boost to their ongoing weekend classes program for the children.
How you can help
The cost to setup the computer lab – with three PCs – in LR Nagar is Rs 80,436. Apart from this, Let’s Spread Love requires additional reserves amounting to Rs 119,564 to maintain their website and host server and for future payments for online and offline engagements for the initiative.
Namma Bengaluru Foundation requests all concerned Bengalureans to help Harshil Mittal raise Rs 2 lakhs to setup the computer lab for slum kids at LR Nagar. Knowledge is ultimate power and hence your generous contribution to facilitate free flow of knowledge through the digital medium will do a world of good to these underprivileged children. Other ways to help
Beyond money – this initiative also needs your help in spreading the word. Be it through word-of-mouth or through various social media platforms – do educate other Bengalureans on Harshil's effort to setup a computer lab for slum kids of LR Nagar.
