"Lets Spread some Warmth"
"The glow of one warm thought is worth more than money " - Thomas Jefferson

The Proposition
  1. At a remote village in Ladakh, where cattle grazing is primary occupation, children are engaged in the activity for the entire day.
  2. Region marred by extremely low temperatures dipping upto (-25 deg.) during the winter season that lasts for 4-6 months.
  3. Large section of the population migrates to warmer location, thus resulting in children missing school & not being able to complete the curriculum.
  4. School hostel lack arrangements to keep students warm during extreme conditions, Hence understanding our social responsibility, we at Royal Bikers intend to support the children in the region by developing the infrastructure to keep the hostel warm during winters & enabling them to complete their studies without dropping out.

  • No formal source of employment, hardly any livelihood options.
  • Average annual household income is around Rs 20000.
  • Being close to international border, always under threat.
  • Being nomad, meeting daily needs is tough for the villagers.
  • Sheep rearing primary activity.
  • No electricity, so life get tough after sun sets in.
  • Only one mid-school with a recently built hostel block

Basis the request received from the principal of Govt. Middle School @ Khaldo village in Hanle & locals, we intend to install a heating system to keep the school hostel warm during extremely cold weather conditions & enable the students to continue education instead of dropping out of school

  • Imparting education to 265 children & youth in the region.
  • Supported & run by government.
  • Managed by village education committee, principal & warden.
  • Newly built hostel block (2017) to provide continuous education to the students living from the nearby villages.
  • Plans to upgrade to secondary level in future

  • Basic education a basic right & no one should remain deprived of it.
  • Extreme weather conditions causing drop-out from school & non-completion of session is loss of resources & opportunity.
  • Importance of education is not understood by a large section of the population in this region.
  • Enabling a comfortable environment to promote continuous education is as important as providing education.
  • With abysmally low literacy rate in the region, it becomes more important to ensure children complete their education & result in development of the region & the future generation
Action plan

  • A thermal central heating system to be installed to keep the hostel warm.
  • Easy-to-operate & low cost of maintenance.
  • To be installed at hostel area & keep it warm when temperatures sub-zero degrees.
  • The spare parts & raw materials to be procured & supplied from Srinagar.
  • Expert technicians to install the system & train school administration to operate & maintain.
  • Supplier to maintain it for a year at free of cast & school management/administration to ensure its upkeep.
  • Team Royal Bikers would reach Hanle – riding on motorcycles from New Delhi with stoppages at several cities en route as per itinerary, carrying spares & equipment.
  • The installation would be inspected & inaugurated (proposed) by the sponsors, riders & supporters of the project along with Sarpanch (Nambardar) & local administrative officials
