HELP 25,000 DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN LEARN AT HOME!

With schools shut down all over the country due to the COVID-19 crisis, and likely to remain shut for another 2-3 months, the classroom teaching and learning time will be highly reduced. Children, especially ones from disadvantaged backgrounds like Rani and Komal, are vulnerable to losing all learning gains made in the past year due to the extended school closure.
There is an urgent need to utilize the period from June to August 2020 to give a head start to these children before they start a truncated school year.

Digital learning has been widely hailed as the best solution to provide continuing education in these times.
However, there exists a great digital divide, and e-learning opportunities are available to only about 15% of rural households in India.

The remaining 85% of households either do not have smartphones or data connectivity to make online learning possible for their children.

LLF runs learning improvement projects in Haryana, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan for young children in grades 1 and 2. Approximately 25,000 children in these projects have no access to online or smartphone-based learning.

Our Solution
LLF has developed a detailed strategy in collaboration with state governments to ensure home-based learning for these 25,000 children from disadvantaged communities with minimum reliance on technology.

How Can You Help?

The pandemic has already claimed much of life as we knew it. Let’s make sure that it does not claim our children’s learning too. We have made a commitment to ensure that Rani, Komal, and thousands of other children like them continue on the path of education and make up for the lost school time. Join us in our commitment and help us fulfill our promise to them.

About Us

LLF was founded in 2015 with the goal of improving learning outcomes of children in government primary schools by improving the teaching and learning process of language and literacy in grades 1 to 3. LLF presently works with 7 state governments and will be able to impact classroom teaching of over 600,000 teachers and improve learning of 4.5 million children by 2025. LLF’s three-pronged strategy focuses on continuous professional development of teachers and teacher educators through a variety of blended courses, (b) implementation of school-level demonstration for learning improvement, and (c) systemic reforms for bringing about sustainable change.

Dear Friend,
We’re glad to inform you that graded reading books and workbooks are ready for dispatch. The material would be provided to children through LLF’s district team. Our team has created a route map of schools for delivery at the cluster level, in collaboration with government academic support personnel.

We are aware of the real learning levels of children when schools closed in March 2020 and the materials have been developed to provide adequate revision and reinforcement of the earlier content before supporting further learning.

With schools shut down all over the country owing to the COVID-19 crisis, precious instructional time in the classroom is being lost. Children, especially ones from marginalized backgrounds are at the risk of losing all learning gains made in the past year.

We hope to get your support for our #HarGharSchool - an initiative to help children learn at home!

Dear Friends,
With schools shut down all over the country owing to the COVID-19 crisis, precious instructional time in the classroom is being lost. Children, especially ones from marginalised backgrounds, are at the risk of losing all learning gains made in the past year. Disadvantaged students run the risk of losing almost the entire year of learning in the past school year during this extended school closure. There is an urgent need to effectively utilize this lockdown period to give a head start to these children before school reopening for the truncated next academic year.
We are revising our goal to make sure that we are able to reach children as soon as possible. The reading books and workbooks are getting ready and soon it will reach to the children.

Looking forward to your love and support!

Dear Friends,
We're grateful for your amazing response and contribution which will enable us to help disadvantaged children learn at home. However, our proposed project for an urgent response to the COVID crisis aims to support home learning of 25000 disadvantaged children from low-income communities who do not have access to e-learning opportunities during the period of extended school closure. Each child will receive with printed learning material, viz a workbook, and a reading book, in order to facilitate their learning at home.

The project also seeks to support parents of the children in facilitating use of the material through usage of technology that does not rely on availability of internet and smartphones.
