    Geeta Thakker

    from Mumbai, Maharashtra

Family Background:-
My name is Monish Thakker, son of Geeta Thakker (Benficiary). We belong to a middle class family. We are a family of 4 people living in Mumbai(shifted Chennai for treatment). My Mother and Father have worked their whole life day and night and are now retired. As me and my father are required to take care of my mother, I stay at home. My elder brother is the sole earning member in the family. The income earned gets utilised for meeting  day to day family requirements.

Diagnosed Disease:-
My mother has been diagnosed with ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease) for past 5 years. Interstitial lung disease is a general category that includes many different lung conditions. ILD is a disease related to Lungs in which tissue from the air sacs(Alveoli) become thicker thus making it difficult for lungs to supply oxygen into the blood stream thus creating scars on the lungs. All interstitial lung diseases affect the Interstitium, a part of the lungs' anatomic structure. This disease is incurable till date.

She has been fighting strongly with the Lung failure. Due to this disease, she is not able to breath by herself. She needs oxygen support 24 hrs to support her breathing function. She cannot perform routine work by herself. She is bed bound at the moment.
Now doctors suggest that she needs to undergo Double Lung Transplant. The surgery needs to take place at Global Hospitals in Chennai. Transplant is her only hope at getting better and living a normal life. She needs a Lung transplant urgently.

Message from Heart:-
Dear Donors, I have made the courage and started spreading the word on behalf of my mom. Till date I have not received any significant funding. But my faith in humanity and kindness of the people has not died away. I know there exist people with golden heart like you who are always willing to help needy people like me and always there to support.

My Mother's life is supported by a oxygen machine 24x7. Even when she is sleeping, she requires artificial oxygen. Can you imagine everything being taken from you in a second where you had the freedom of doing whatever you wanted to do, go wherever you wanted to go but now you don't have the freedom to do so. I can only imagine what she must be feeling everyday of her life for past 2 years.

I have the will to give my mom a second innings of her life. This is very much possible with your help. I am requesting you guys to help me out to raise the funds for surgery. I am sure you know what a mother means to us and what her essence in our life is. She is irreplaceable in our life.

I request you to kindly contribute towards her treatment and help during our time of need. Each contribution is important!. She deserves to walk on roads breathing natural oxygen like you and I do. She deserves a normal life like you and I do.

Kindly also share the fundraiser on WhatsApp and Social Media platforms so that I can reach my goal amount because there is  power in unity.

Last thing I would say is that "Be generous, it may grant someone a new life". Thanks.
