I am going to turn 28 and I request my friends and family to gift something special to me. When I look back, the only meaning I could give to my existence is by influencing others life positively. I seek posterity and for this selfish reason I want to leave behind some positive influence- be it through my words, talks, or deeds.
This year on my birthday, May 8, I have decided not to accept any gifts for myself. In fact, I want you to give gifts to the people who are in a dire need of it.
In a Village near Palwal district (Haryana) girls are dropping their primary education and the reason is NOT patriarchy. It is PAUCITY of resources. I want you to give gifts to these girls, instead of me, on my birthday.
If calculated comprehensively, one girl needs INR 12,000 to complete her one-year of education (including school dress, books, stationery, meals, etc.) I have personally visited this school and I assure you EACH and EVERY penny you donate will DIRECTLY go towards this 12k amount- No administration and other expenditure would be met through your gifts to me.
Also, I apologize in advance, I would not be throwing a party for my birthday, instead the money that I planned for the party would go towards this cause.
