Arshit, an 11-year old kid, has not been home since May 2018. He is not out on some adventurous or education trip, but getting treatment for his Philadelphia-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a type of progressive blood cancer. Children at his age are dreaming about their superheroes, playing their favorite games and imitating other idols, but Arshit-a warrior is daily fighting with harsh chemotherapies, radiotherapy, and cancer treatments. He celebrated his 11th birthday getting chemotherapy at the hospital. Arshit is a smart kid who loves to go to school, paint and playing cricket. But now he is confined to a sterilized environment of a hospital so as not to get any infections. He is mature enough to understand his situation and do not throw tantrums about his condition, treatment side-effects, his head going bald, changes on his skin, but silently and bravely fighting.
Arshit is getting treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Delhi. He is from Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Arshit now needs a bone marrow transplant to fully recover. This treatment will cost around 35 lakhs.Both his parents were working as a clerk at a meager INR 12000/ month. But now to take care of their son they could not attend work from past one year. They have exhausted all their finances in cancer treatment, staying in Delhi. Mamta Bhatnagar, Arshit mother said that they have sold their house, and their younger daughter is staying with their relatives from last one year, even they are taking care of her school finances. Arshit's parents have none. In a hope to cure their son, they have spent everything they could, but now that they do not have money, they are in a desperate hopeless situation not knowing what to do. Doctors said it is very important for Arshit to get the bone marrow transplant. They can just hope for a miracle and ask help from friends and family.
