Why am I fundraising?

Our aim is to break  the larger myth of “Once an addict, always an addict”. It’s a step towards self-reliance and re-establishing them back into the society. 

The Union territory of Pondicherry has the highest suicide rate in India, according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).  The Union Territory, Pondicherry is famous for alcohol. Alcoholism is a major public health problem in Pondicherry. What is cheap and easily available here is hard liquor. For a person who is already vulnerable, this is dangerous. Alcoholism is considered a family disease and not just something that affects an individual.  Though there are plenty of hard liquor shops here, there are no quality de-addiction centres . We have 25 families who have suffered due to the wrath of alcoholism, though we can help them by giving medications temporarily they need a sustainable course of admission counselling and regular followup  to bring them back from the clutches of the glooming evil. 

So, we are taking a step towards establishing a De-addiction and Rehabilitation centre to give them a second chance. you can give hope to them and their families by supporting us.
