                                                  MISSION 10K
Five years ago, Mansa Devi and Ramesh migrated from Manpura village of Rajasthan to Jaipur, in search of better education for their children and livelihood opportunities for themselves. Since then they are staying in Katputli Nagar, a slum in the midst of Jaipur, famous for making the traditional Katputli puppets. Ramesh is engaged in carpentry earning an income of Rs.8000 per month. They have two daughters, Raksha of 4yrs and Vanshika of 10yrs. With the income of Ramesh, it was not possible to send the kids to the best of the schools in town. Mansa Devi like every other parent wanted to give the best for the welfare of the child, irrespective of the situation and circumstances. She also wanted to start her own enterprise in stitching.

When there was no hope, Mansa Devi came to know about RTE (1) c, through which there was a possibility for her children to get better education, completely supported by the Government. She put up an application for Raksha, and through the lottery mechanism, Raksha got allotment in the Mother Grace School, near Tonk Pathak, Jaipur. Mansa Devi also realised that due to the financial support provided by the government, she will be able to save close to Rs.20,000 per annum, with which she planned to start her small scale venture. Mansa Devi is now working whole day, managing home, the store and her kids education, supporting her husband on an equal footing. Parents are always trying to see what they can do to make the lives of the child beautiful. Let us do our bit to support such parents and kids for their empowerment.

RTE 12 (1) c is one such opportunity through which children can get better education and have a great future. Section 12 (1) c of the Right to Education Act, mandates for 25% reservation in unaided private schools for children belonging to economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups.

This year, I am running a campaign with the support of Indus Action, to help 10,000 kids enroll into better schools, under RTE Sec 12 (1) c. In Jaipur, there are 35,000+ seats available in private schools for children from low income communities, which is a great opportunity for the under served masses. There is very low awareness among the poor families of this provision. So, we have started an educational information campaign to create awareness in 200+ slums of Jaipur. We support the candidates at every stage  - identification, checking eligibility, documentation, application until admission.

We require financial support for the following in order to achieve the mission 10K:
- Printing 2,00,000 Pamphlets and distributing them
- Setting up helpline centre with 5 tele callers
- 25 Application Desks to collect and process the applications
