    This fundraiser will benefit

    George

    from Bangalore, Karnataka

2017 didn't exactly start off on a positive note for Harry and his family. Harry is the Security Head at our office building - the elderly gentleman that greets you with a 'Good Morning Beti' every day when you enter the office premises.

January 2017, Harry's 29-year-old son George was diagnosed with Cancer. It came as a rude shock to all of us in office to learn of Harry's son's health.

George has so far completed 3 cycles of Chemo, 4th one going on. The family has spent almost 15 Lacs so far for Chemo & supportive care. While he has been responding to medication and treatments well, Doctors have now confirmed that George will need a Bone Marrow Transplant. The BMT alone will cost him 16 lacs in addition to the 4th cycle of Chemo and supportive care charges of another 5 Lacs.

George continues to remain employed and his employer has kindly extended his medical insurance from 3 Lacs to 10 Lacs, 95% of which has already been utilised. If George gets through with this treatment, which I am positive he will,  he stands a very good chance at going back to leading a normal life. The price he will pay for it - 20 Lacs INR!!

A lower middle-class family of 5 (4 adults & 1 infant - yes, George also has a cute 3-months old daughter!:)) with 2 earning members bringing in an income of roughly 30K per month. Add to that a medical condition that not only tests your physical strength, mental resilience but also is a financial black-hole. Let alone empathise, most of us cannot even begin to feel the difficult times that the family is tiding through.

For just Harry & George to do this would be super-human efforts. For those of us that care, while we cannot share in George's pain (physical & emotional), we can surely be of support financially and morally. And this is the platform for you to extend your helping hand and show that you care.
So, go on, open up your heart and be generous. Let us help George and his family get back their lives and enjoy a normal living like you & I do.

Thank you for being generous, thank you for being human!

Love & Light,
Divya
