Help Sumesh Sawant recover from life threatning brain injury

Sumesh, a 24 year old young man, is currently battling for life in the ICU at Jaslok Hospital following an accident.

Sumesh, who is an orphan, comes from a very humble background and has dedicated his whole life to work for underprivileged children. He has created a holistic community with the help of Reclink Australia, a not-for-profit organisation, to reach out to children of various backgrounds and has worked tirelessly to provide them with work opportunities, personality building through sports and a platform to hone their skills and talents.

His financial situation is below average and he does not have any family to look after him. We as friends have been pooling in all our resources and efforts to provide him with medical support. He is on life support (ventilator) as of now. However, he is in dire need of funds for multiple brain surgeries. The hospital and doctors have given us an estimate of 10-11 lakh rupees for the surgeries and post surgical care.

Saving his life would help not just him but many other underprivileged children. Help Sumesh survive and continue his positive work!

Dear Supporters,

Here's a quick update:

Yesterday Sumesh was discharged and has been taken home for recovery. Last 24 days have been very tough on Sumesh and everyone caring for him at the hospital. But it has finally paid off.

The doctors say the recovery time for Sumesh to get back to his usual self is 6-8 months.

We are hopeful for a faster recovery.

Thank you all for helping us through Sumesh's hospitalization.

Dear Supporters,

Here's a quick update:

We are all very thankful for Sumesh's miraculous recovery. He has responded excellently to the physiotherapy and has started walking more each day. His brain related injuries are healing as well.

Since his cheekbones, nose and right eye orbit have been fractured, he is scheduled to undergo a supra major surgery by a maxillofacial surgeon. He might also require a few more minor facial surgeries in the near future.

Sumesh's recovery is thanks to all your thoughts and prayers. We would like to thank all the donors again for your continued support.

Dear Supporters,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your tremendous support and good wishes! Sumesh has shown positive signs of recovery. He is aware of his surroundings and can recognize people now. He is capable of breathing on his own while he is awake and they turn the ventilator on when he is sedated. He is responding very well to physiotherapy as well and moves his hands and legs strongly. His vision in the left eye seems good and he follows movements and people.

The doctors will keep him under observation in the ICU to see if he can go without ventilator for 48 hours, following which he may be shifted to HDU.

We thank you again for your continued  prayers and contributions without which Sumesh would not have shown such miraculous recovery.
