Provide schooling to kids of Gajesingh ki Dhani in Jaisalmer
The beautiful and tiny village of Gajesingh ki Dhani is tucked away within the sand dunes of the Thar Desert about 140 km from Jaisalmer.

People in this village are completely dependent on animal husbandry. The village is very close to the Pakistan border and is considered a sensitive region by the BSF (Border Security Force) thus controlled completed by the Indian Armed Forces. Since teh region is in the middle of the Thar Desert the land is not suitable for most types of farming or plantation. More importantly the land in that area cannot be owned for farming purposes – plots of land are allotted by the Armed Forces to develop basic necessities and shelter. Because of such harsh conditions population in this village is very low.

In discussion with village people we came to know that those who could afford have migrated from the village to nearby towns for a better future and education of their kids. But the village residents who can’t afford migrating are feeling neglected and are insecure as their only asset and source of survival is cattle.

The village has only 17 households with no provision of basic necessities. So much so that for the most basic food needs too the villages have to travel 15 to 85 km from the village. The village has no access by road either. The nearest semi-paved access road is 2km away. There is no government or private school in village. The closest government school is 15km from the village but they can’t even send their kids as there is no means of transportation. Worst part the government school which is 15kms away is being managed by just one teacher who sometimes fails to open the school as the teacher has to fulfill administrative duties related to the school for which he has to travel 70 km.

2 kms from the semi paved road, one has to travel over this path to reach this point lies Gajeshing ki Dhani.

With all these problems faced by the villagers along with the issue of unaffordability, kids of Gajesingh ki dhani are loosing out on education.

Village people present at the time of discussion and sharing about their helpless situation.

Our target:
Our target is to provide education to every child of the village by providing every necessary support.

How will we work:
In our visit to village we have seen majority of people willing to give education to their kids and some are not aware of the importance of education.
We will first bring awareness and encourage them to educate their kids.
Then we will provide them with schooling in the nearby town of Ramgarh. We will arrange for boarding and food for them along with all the necessities like books, uniforms and stationary.
We will be keeping regular watch on their progress reports to make sure that the kids and parents both are motivated at all times and educated properly.
Transportation from Ramgarh to Gajeshing ki Dhani will be provided for both short and long vacations.

Planned impact:
Our plan is to bring 100% education to kids of the village.
