Help Fuel Aspirations Of These 2000 Children

If you have ever wanted to go from Chamarajapete to Vijayanagar or vise-versa in Bangalore, you would have most definitely crossed the area of Goripalya. Goripalya resides in the heart of Bengaluru and is one of the places where health and hygiene is a huge concern. Families who live here are mostly labourers and daily-wage earners.

What do you think the schools are like in this area?
Low-income private schools charge staggering fees, around Rs. 20,000 per annum. Hence, families turn to government schools for their children’s education.
We have always blamed government schools for lack of infrastructure, lack of structures and even for the quality of education that they have been providing and for many other reasons. Our names are Padmashree, Smrithi and Anu. We work with Teach for India and 13 Urdu Government Schools, with 2000 children, in this area
Every school and every child has a story. We strongly believe that every child deserves an excellent education. However, the reality of these schools is quite disheartening. Although there are highly invested and motivated HMs, teachers and government officials, the complexities of issues are so vast, that these schools have a long way to go.  Our project aims at strengthening these schools so that the children get access to basic amenities that have become a privilege for them.

We are raising funds for the following-
1. Improving infrastructure of the schools by fixing libraries, computers, etc
2. Increasing digital literacy among teachers and students by bringing in certified, paid resources
3. Providing exposure and extra-curricular activities for children and parents
4. Creating new libraries and bringing in new books for existing libraries
5. Conducting training for different stakeholders involved
