Saroj Barik Narayan, was 34 year old on the fateful day of 5th November, 2016 which took his life while trying to save a drowning colleague in the unforgiving Gopad River, in Sihawal Block, Siddhi, Madhya Pradesh. Seeing one of his colleague drowning, this brave-heart dived into the deep cold water but lost his control. We lost a courageous, free spirited, ever helpful and caring person. Saroj joined PRADAN, a national level NGO right after his B. Sc. Forestry from the OUAT, Odisha in their Rayagada team. He was working for the livelihood enhancement in remote pockets through various means and helping communities get access to basic rights and entitlements in places where Government machinery found it hard to reach. He later shifted to Sihawal in Siddhi District in MP in 2014 and started working with rural women.

We are trying to extend as much support as possible to his family. The contribution raised would go to support his  parents who were dependent on him emotionally and financially. Parents of such brave, young and dynamic person will feel the emptiness of losing him at such an age. Securing them financially is the least we can do. Contribute now.
