Although his life was far from easy, Amin never forgot believing in the goodness of people and the idea that it only takes one person to change the world. And he started to dream: to write a book and utilizing its profit to open a café that supports street children. A coffee shop with a library where street children (and workers alike) can find a safe haven and a place that they can call home. Bombay to Barcelona Library Café in Marol, Mumbai is Amin’s labour of love. At B2BLC, Amin trains orphans from Sneha Sadan in the art of hospitality & culinary skills. They boast of a truly global menu thanks to super-chefs from across the world who regularly volunteer to train the staff of the café.
What used to be a buzzing café, full of life & music now wears a dull & deserted look, as the on-going Covid19 pandemic has put a sudden brake on business. Though B2BLC is registered on various online food ordering portals, business is still negligible, with the result that the café is finding it difficult to meet their overheads and are now considering shutting shop for good. The orphans who were employed there, for whom B2BLC was a new lease of life, are now staring at an uncertain and a bleak future.
We seek generous donors who can help generate funds for this café that will help them tide over this crisis, till it is business as usual. Your contributions will go a long way in ensuring that they’re at the very least able to meet overheads and keep the café running. More than a café, B2BLC represents the hopes, dreams and aspirations of 9 orphans for a better future.
