    This fundraiser will benefit

    Epiphany High School

    from Pune, Maharashtra

80G tax benefits for INR donations

Sangeeta Kadam, the Principal of Epiphany School (click here to visit our website), gave up her job in a Cusrow Wadia College to give back to society.  Having received a great education in India and abroad, she knew the impact it has on the life of an individual. She wanted to provide the same opportunities to the underprivileged in her own country.

In 2000, Sangeeta, along with a team of teachers, started Epiphany English Medium School with the vision to provide high quality and affordable education to children living in low-income communities in Pune. What started with 140 students from Primary to Grade 4 soon grew to become a high school in 2002.

Since its inception, Epiphany School has impacted the lives of many children. We follow a child-centric, activity-based pedagogy that has the core belief that "each child is wired and inspired differently" and moves away from the passive, rote-learning based teaching that is still common across most schools.

With 600 students studying across grades till standard 10th in Pune in March 2020, we were making steady progress toward our vision.  Until ... Covid happened!

Epiphany School has been particularly impacted due to the pandemic as we serve a financially vulnerable segment of society.  Almost 70% of our parents have lost their sources of income and are not able to continue with our online classes.  So, from 600 children, our current enrollment has drastically dropped to 300 children.  Unfortunately, our major expenses of teacher salaries and rental expenses have not reduced in a corresponding manner as we are committed to providing the best online education we can to the children still enrolled with us.

As of result, we are facing a shortfall of Rs 15 lakh in this financial year.  Without your assistance, we might have to completely shut down our school for this academic year leading to tremendous hardship for our teachers and our students.

Consequently, we are reaching out for "a helping hand" to help tide over this unprecedented crisis and sustain this dream of Epiphany School, of Quality. Affordability. Love.
