1) Who are we?
Ans: Aapka Sahara Foundation is a Mumbai-based NGO currently operational in 10 different cities focusing on elder care and mental health.
We are registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 under the name Aapka Shara Foundation and are certified for 80G donation. Our official date of registration is December 20th, 2019. Our vision has been encapsulated in our slogan: Aapki Khushi, Humari Khushi.

2) What is Aapka Sahara Healthcare Fund?
Ans: Aapka Sahara Healthcare Fund is a specific fund created to compensate the unsung heroes of the pandemic: caretakers/servants/ambulance drivers/ward boys for their relentless hard-work and sacrifices made during the pandemic.

3) How are we doing it?
Ans: We will be directly depositing an amount of 5,000 Rupees as a token of appreciation in the individual bank accounts of the aforementioned list of people. We have tied up with different hospitals across the nation to get the data of the healthcare workers. Our process will be easily facilitated with our dedicated legal and accounting team. We have personally got in touch with the various caretakers in and around the city who care for the COVID19 infected senior citizens and are in dire need of funds.

4) Why are we doing it?
Ans:
Living in a world where a virus has taken over rapidly, we met a lady who stood against all odds to protect her family even after facing the COVID-19 infection herself. And she inspired us.
Meghana lives in a small house in Mumbra, a suburb near Thane with her son, daughter and her husband. She tries to not only make ends meet but also works odd jobs to cater to her mentally challenged 14-year old son, college-going 18 year old daughter and a husband who needs immediate surgery. She does so by looking after COVID19 patients, especially senior citizens. She is a hard-working woman, the only earning member in her family.
Over the course of the lockdown that began last year, she treated and took care of senior citizens between the ages of 50-85 years. While doing so, she contracted the virus herself. Yet, it did not break her unwavering spirit. After she was fully cured, she worked even harder to aid the requirements of her family. During our conversation with Meghana, she broke down and cried as she narrated the incidents and stories about the adversities that she had to face. Wiping off the tears that had rolled down from her eyes, she stood tall with her vibrant smile as she introduced us to the patient she was catering to at that time. Her aura brings smiles to the lives of people and we, at Aapka Sahara Foundation wish to bring smiles to the face of people like her who are at the frontline of this war against the pandemic.
As we look back at our conversation, we feel blessed, blessed to be alive. And we wish for you to be too, as we need to come together, today, of all days to fight this pandemic that engulfs us. We encourage you to contribute your bit, in giving back to society- so that people who are truly in need of basic necessities get through this pandemic smoothly, without having to worry for their survival.

This is our way of acknowledging their efforts and sacrifice and to be eternally grateful for their never ending support.

5) Is 80G tax exemption available?
Ans:  Yes, by donating to our fund raiser for this social cause, the donor can avail the 80G Tax benefit.
