Certain biological aspects such as menstruation should not hamper the progress of women and restrict their potential, but due to lack of menstrual hygiene and menstrual awareness, women may plunge down and back to primitive society, deemed fit only for home making. Wonder how?
According to world health organization as of 2018 about 1.9 billion girls across the world menstruate and half a million girls and women do not have access to proper menstrual products, and resort to unhygienic methods, making them vulnerable to health issues.
This can result in girls missing out school and even dropping out. By unequal access to education and health care we may have tarnished the very idea of equality, by robbing women the right to equality in terms of education and opportunities.
Proper menstrual hygiene and menstrual awareness is therefore imperative as it will not only ensure a healthy and dignified life for women, but also ensure overall life opportunities for them .

I am Dubasi Haritha and I recently got the opportunity to be a part of HAMARI PEHCHAN NGO and was really intrigued by their"SUKHAD PROJECT" which aims at providing underprivileged women the access to menstrual products and ending the stigma around menstrual talk. The initiative is a humble step towards helping women to spend their periods in safe, hygienic, and dignified manner with adequate means and awareness.

It also aims at work generation for underprivileged women under the "skill development" and thereby making them Atma nirbhar.
HAMARI PEHCHAN NGO has distributed 30,000 Sukhad kits in 2021.
THEY ARE PLANNING TO DISTRIBUTE AROUND 50 K SUKHAD KITS TO UNDERPRIVILEGED WOMEN.
Per kit price: Sukhad kit for 1 woman = Rs. 1,400/-
Sukhad kits for 5 women = Rs 7,000/-

24 packets of sanitary pad
6 packets of soap
