We are a bunch of Teach for India fellows, teaching in government schools in Bangalore. The fellowship is a two year commitment, where graduates, professionals and others like us come together to work towards educational equity in the country and don the role of a school teacher in government and low income private schools.

Apart from teaching in the classrooms, we fellows also try to get our kids access and exposure to the world outside, to art and culture, to nurturing their interests, etc. We have a lot of projects in this regard, self- funded by the fellows or crowd- funded. Dramebaaz is one such project which brings out the artists in these kids.

Prasanth Nori and Soumya Kavi started Dramebaaz during their fellowship in 2015, because they felt that theater was a very effective tool for holistic development of a child, with both tangible and intangible benefits. Dramebaaz provides training, resources and a platform for all the Teach for India schools enrolling with it. This year, Dramebaaz is all set to impact 500 children in Bangalore, from about 25 schools. These children will showcase their plays and compete with each other in the month of December, 2017.

Logistics for this mammoth of an event will include arranging for resource personnel, transport for all these children, food, auditorium, technical equipment, prizes and certificates, merchandise, etc. We look forward to giving these kids a fabulous experience with a little help from you Good Samaritans!
