Help Dramebaaz Bangalore take theatre to 500 underprivileged kids!

Adult: Tell me a story.
Kid: No, I will show you a story.

We are a bunch of Teach For India fellows, teaching in government schools in Bangalore. The Fellowship is a two year commitment, where graduates, professionals and others like us come together to work towards educational equity in the country and don the role of a school teacher in government and low income private schools.

Apart from teaching in the classrooms, we Fellows also try to get our kids access and exposure to the world outside, to art and culture, to nurture their interests, etc. We have a lot of projects in this regard, self-funded by the fellows or crowd-funded. Dramebaaz is one such project which brings out the artists in these kids.

Prasanth Nori and Soumya Kavi started Dramebaaz during their Fellowship in 2015, because they felt that theater was a very effective tool for holistic development of a child, with both tangible and intangible benefits.

Dramebaaz provides training, resources, and a platform for all the Teach for India schools enrolling with it. This year, Dramebaaz is all set to impact 500 children in Bangalore, from about 25 schools. These children will showcase their own plays and compete with each other in the month of January, 2018.

Logistics for this mammoth of an event will include arranging for resource personnel, transport for all these children, food, auditorium, technical equipment, prizes and certificates, merchandise, etc. We look forward to giving these kids a fabulous experience with a little help from you Good Samaritans!

We will be greatly grateful for you support, be it financial, well wishing, liking, and sharing!

Dear Supporters,

Dramebaaz showcase, for the year 2017-18 was held on 21st January 2018. It saw participation from 40 schools - both government and low-income private schools, in a day-long theater experience. Around 550 children performed on the stage that day, to an audience that comprised of their parents, peers, and educators. This event was a success because of all your support, a huge shout out to all of you from team Dramebaaz! We will be providing more opportunities for the kids to perform their plays round the year and any future support will be utilized in arranging for that.

Thank you so much for your wonderful support.

Dear Supporters,

With just about 10 days left for the event, we have set the ball rolling with the funds raised.

We have decided on a venue for the event- KK English School, Varthur, Bangalore; we have placed orders for evening snacks for 600 children+200 parents+100 volunteers; we have also placed orders for merchandise for the winning kids.

All of this has been possible due to your support and we are immensely grateful for that!

Thank you.
