Working for a year with a group of kids coming from BPL or low income background, made me realise that the smart minds and talent does not come from richness but it's there in every child.
I have been working with these kids and the parents from community; teaching, modelling, half parenting sometimes and in the process I realised, digitisation is wrongly fitted into their lives. For them digitisation is just watching fake news, altered videos on whatsapp in the time they fight with their parents for switching on mobile data. And for some in my class, I feel lucky they don't have access to even that.
And with that I wanted my class to have their digitisation world where they can learn from beautiful apps like Epic books, Math Ninjas, Wordsearch, Garageband, What's the difference? and many such stuff. Why kids from higher income group can have access to the all and my kids don't even know how to operate a computer when they are in 6th grade now.
I and my kids are looking towards help from you for getting this digitised world in their hands. The kids I work with are in 6th standard on paper but their Reading Comprehension level average of standard 2 and there are many causes for that. Also, as they are in 6th standard which is just 2 years from their 8th, which pushes me to think what if these kids drop-out of education after that, and I will see my shattered dream of educated India and they will see their shattered dream of becoming musician, dancer, astronauts, engineer.
Looking to get 10 mini iPads for my class of kids(one iPad on 3 kids), so that these kids can also avail the education that is technology driven.
The cost breakdown is: ₹28,000 MRP * 10 kids = ₹2,80,000

Why iPad and not other tablets?
I have an Apple TV in the class but there are no iPads for kids, so I am unable to use the facility. Apple has many application dedicated towards education which can be used in collaboration with the Apple TV.
Also, there are many features in using iPad and Apple TV together through which I can monitor the kids work, give them feedback, and share it with others. This is not provided in any Android based systems.
