Hello,   The Gaja Cyclone has caused tremendous damage to the coastal districts of Tanjore, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Pudukkottai and has severely affected the livelihood of all the people. Estimates suggest that the calamity caused by this cyclone must be very close to the one that was created by cyclone Thane in Cuddalore a few years ago. These districts are facing the greatest disaster that we can not even imagine. A large number of trees have fallen across these districts. Even the electric poles and mobile towers didn't escape the impact of the winds. Since the storm destroyed lot of houses many people are suffering without proper shelter, and since the sea water flooded the Vedaranyam region, the farmlands have become unfit for agriculture for many years. It is saddening to hear the news that there are several instances of loss of human life too...
