Support Wheelchair Cricket

Wheelchair Cricket India came in being with sole purpose of getting everyone remotely attached to Wheelchair Cricket together for the betterment of the sport of cricket and Divyangs willing to pursue it. Still there are mixed reactions among Divyangs about Cricket on Wheels - some even claiming it an absurd idea. Wheelchair Cricket India has proven them wrong again and again by successfully conducting tournaments of large scale with almost 200+ wheelchaired divyangs participating in these tournaments.
In Disable Rehab, usage of sports is still in its infancy, specially in India. Wheelchair Cricket India wishes to change this very soon. Wheelchair Cricket India requires high quality light weight customized wheelchairs for its teams to make the sport of Cricket more feasible and at the same time safe.

Paralympic has definitely gained popularity in India in recent few years. Thanks to  Mariyappan Thangavelu,  Devendra Jhajharia ,  Deepa Malik and  Varun Singh Bhati who collectively brought 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze to India. But access to a sport is still a dream for 99 percent of Divyangs all across country. Bad planning and poor execution of avaailable schemes by government is ensuring that this remains a dream for Divyangs in India.

Wheelchair Cricket India will very soon start a campaign to force government to make not only all  Sport Facilities  accessible to Wheelchair Users but also to make Stands of Stadiums and other sporting Arenas accessible to Wheelchair Users so they, their families, and friends can enjoy equal access to entertainment, recreation, and leisure. In IPL 2018,  Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team was witness to one of the Delhi Daredevil Match at Firoz Shah Kotla ground, New Delhi where special arrangements for Persons using Wheelchairs were done by Delhi Daredevil Management. DD management team definitely deserves a pat on their back for that. Intentions were definitely noble. But the way it was done was still a Charity Way. Whereas it should be now at least considered a Right of Divyangs. Not only access to stadium- right from Accessible Parking-Dedicated Drop Zones - drinking water arrangements - accessible toilets - right to be able to enjoy the match with friends and family and not sit alone in a stand dedicated for them and where there are no other chairs except wheelchairs. This is not Inclusion - This is forced Exclusion.... Accessible seating must be an integral part of the seating plan so that people using wheelchairs are not isolated from other spectators or their friends or family.

Wheelchair Cricket India is working on a action plan to Make this Dream of #SportsforAll a success. Cooperation of all concerns is solicited.
