The major cause of hunger is inequality due to social status and lack of access to facilities. India is one of the highest-ranking countries in the world for the most number of people suffering from hunger.
Today, 690 million people around the world go to bed on an empty stomach. Often, one meal at the right time is enough to make a difference between life and death.
I, Clifford Pinto, have been working with Hamari Pahchan NGO as a Volunteer and have witnessed various problems that society has been going through. Our goal is to let everyone have a meal before they sleep.
The recent and a long lasting turmoil caused by COVID-19 world-wide has now made HUNGER issues face by the under-privileged more prominent than ever. With a vast majority of the minimum wage workers losing their jobs due to the lockdown during the pandemic has put lakhs of families in positions where there are required to face immense hardships to battle hunger. If this problem is not tended to as soon as possible it has a threatening potential of pushing families into indulging in "less ethical" ways of dealing with their problems
