I am fundraising to light up a Child's life by distributing solar lamps

About the campaign

Help us to illuminate the lives of 500 children by donating solar lamps for this academic exams and give them a better education.

Many poor children suffer at exams time as they found it difficult to study after sundown because of lack of electricity in many places of India. That's when we started thinking about a way that could make lives simpler for the slum children. The fact that India has plenty of sunlight throughout the year and that there is a lack in providing sufficient electricity, were the two ends we had to connect. We believed there was a simple and sustainable way to tackle it, solar lamps.

As of this academic final exams, we have decided to provide solar lamps to many slum children as they should be able to study despite the lack of power and shouldn't give up their education due to electricity problems in the city.

It is in your hands to help us provide these children with an environment friendly alternative.

What do we plan to do with the funds?

The cost involved per solar lamp is Rs. 1200. We need your support to take care of 500 children at least for this academic exams and help them secure a brighter future for themselves. A contribution of Rs. 1200 will go a long way - it will help save one child to study during powercuts. we will be targeting upcountry locations of Karnataka for this project, with preference to children from underprivileged families, studying in different government schools.
