Who Are We?
Chandana Art Foundation International is dedicated to the child artist. It was established on April 5, 1999, as a registered trust and is a charitable, organization devoted to the preservation and promotion of art and cultural heritage of India. We reach out to children from special homes and others with a goal of introducing them to the world of art. We have been organizing 'Art Exposure programmes' with the help of art teachers. In 2005, Received State Award from Minister for Women & Child Welfare & Senior Citizens, Government of Karnataka for Outstanding Service to Children with Disabilities. In 2007, 'Bangalore Development Authority' [BDA] allotted a Civic Amenity Site to CAFI measuring 3700 Sq-ft at Anjaneya HBCS II Phase, Bangalore to build the infrastructure for proposed ART Resource Library.
The uniqueness of CAFI is the art and crafts education for people with visual challenges and multiple disabilities which provides empowerment, confidence and sustenance. Many people are surprised to hear and see that people who are visually challenged or partially sighted, including those who have never had full sight, often enjoy making what we typically call “visual” art.
Why Am I Fundraising?
At Chandana Art Foundation, we believe, 'Art & Cultural Education' is a never ending process. It is a journey from innocence to experience with varied interest, attitudes, aptitudes, inclinations. From this thought emerged the idea of having a dedicated centre for children, a Art Resource Centre
