The Nativity Children's Home serves 32 girls who come from vulnerable situations such as poverty, abuse and rejection. They range in age from 6 to 14. We provide shelter, food and a loving community for the girls, and we send them to a local private school for their education.
Although the school is not too far from the Home, much of the journey is on dirt roads that turn to mud when it rains, and the children need to cross a busy main road, which can be dangerous, especially for the younger children.
A small bus would allow us to bring the girls safely from Home to school and back again each day without the risk of any of them getting hit by a car on the road. It would be extremely helpful in the monsoon season when the rains make the trip even more difficult.
